Yes. Message us and we’ll arrange a viewing at the site you’re considering, subject to availability.

No deposit is required at any of our sites. You pay your first month’s rental and sign the storage agreement before move-in or collection.

Online by card, by EFT, or on a debit order. Your invoice carries the payment details.

Storage is month to month. Give two weeks’ notice when you want to end the agreement. Your contract has the applicable dates and terms.

Padlocks are R150, pallets R250 each, and on-site assistance R450 a person. Johannesburg valet orders can also add moving boxes at R95 and bubble wrap at R80 an item. See all add-ons and where each is available.

Choose your site and unit and book online, or WhatsApp us. We’ll send an invoice and storage agreement. Your booking is confirmed once payment and the signed agreement are received.

Once your first payment and signed agreement have been received. Unpaid online reservations are cancelled after 24 hours.

Yes. Select a move-in time when booking so a team member can meet you, hand over access and show you around. Later visits follow your site’s normal access arrangements.

Yes. Bring them to your self storage unit during access hours, or drop them at the valet warehouse. Contact us before visiting a valet warehouse so the team can prepare.

We work with moving and packing partners rather than running our own crews. Tell us your dates and what needs moving and we’ll put you in touch and come back with availability and pricing.

It varies by site. Paarden Eiland and Parow: 7am–7pm, 365 days a year. Woodstock: 7am–7pm, seven days, closed on public holidays. Zone 7: 8am–5pm, 365 days a year. Check your site’s page before visiting.

After your scheduled first move-in, no — visit any time during your site’s access hours and follow the access instructions for that site.

Yes, by appointment. Pods are stacked, so the team needs to bring yours down. Give at least 24 hours’ notice through WhatsApp or the customer portal. If it’s urgent, message us and we’ll see what’s possible.

Maitland and Selby are warehouses rather than drive-up sites, and visits are by appointment. Maitland: Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm, closed Sunday. Selby, Johannesburg: Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm, Saturday 8am to 2pm, closed Sunday and public holidays.

Ask the team ahead of time. Out-of-hours access may be possible depending on the site and availability, but it isn’t automatic.

At some sites, yes. It depends on the location and the unit, so ask when you book.

We bring a wooden pod to your door, help you load it, take it to our warehouse and bring it back when you need it. You can also bring your things to the warehouse yourself.

Each pod is 2m long × 1.5m wide × 2m high — six cubic metres. That typically holds the contents of a small one-bedroom flat, depending on the furniture and how it’s packed.

Yes. Take one pod or ten, and pay per pod per month. Return a pod and you stop paying for it. Tell us what you’re storing and we’ll help estimate the number.

Yes. Tell the team which items you need and they’ll confirm the arrangement and any charge, rather than returning the whole pod.

Large or loose items can be stored on their own and charged per item — from R250 a month in Johannesburg and R350 at Maitland. Send us the dimensions or a photograph for a quote.

Cape Storit insures its facilities but does not insure the belongings inside your unit or pod. Please arrange your own contents cover, and check with your insurer that goods in storage are included.

No hazardous, illegal or perishable items. Drain fuel from powered equipment, defrost and dry appliances, and ask us before storing anything you’re unsure about.

Pack so that nothing shifts — pods are stacked and moved by forklift. Seal the pod yourself. Ask the team for packing guidance if you’d like it.

Security arrangements differ by site. Check the page for your specific location for what that site has, and arrange your own cover for the goods you store.
